Round table on Cyber security interaction between Science, Business and Government
On April 5, 2018, SULSIT (a member of Cluster Sofia City of Knowledge) held a round table on Cybersecurity interaction between Science, Business and Government. At the round table was presented one of the developments of DAVID Holding (a member of the cluster) - Geospatial portal for proactive decision support in Cyber-Security System of Sofia Municipality - conceptual model with the Internet of Things (IoT).
Many of the participants in the discussion were interested in this project. The development is in line with point 3 of the Cluster guidelines, namely cybersecurity on the Internet of Things.
The geospatial portal is developed from bottom to top, starting with a pilot project in a limited territory of Sofia (neighborhood) to build a digital geo-referenced model and a description of all potential sources of threats - old buildings, water basins, streets, transport corridors and terminals, campuses and public buildings, key communication infrastructure, landfills, landslides, and others. In regards to the model the most important issue is the saturation of the observed region with video cameras and smart sensors (IoT) capable of registering, recognizing, and sending geo-referenced content to the Cloud. The scope of the portal includes environmental and water layers, transport infrastructure, energy transmission network, public infrastructure, demographic map, and support for actions of the police and gendarmerie, the Ministry of Environment, emergency assistance and phone number 112, fire and emergency safety, and others.
