Smart Technology Center - Innovation for the city

The Cluster Center for Smart Urban Technologies (hereinafter referred to as the Smart Technologies Centre or STC) is a leading strategic initiative of the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City.

The Center is to be realized through a project under the "Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation" Programme 2021–2027, within the framework of the grant procedure BG16RFPR002-1.003 "Support for the development of existing innovation clusters". The project "Cluster Center for Smart Urban Technologies" (No. BG16RFPR002-1.003-0012) is co-financed by the Ministry of Innovation and Growth.

Euroclusters Open Calls: Funding Opportunities for SMEs

The European Cluster Collaboration Platform recommends that Cluster Sofia – City of Knowledge monitor and offer its members various funding programmes, grants, and tender opportunities provided by the European Union, Euroclusters, and the ECCP community. Whether our members or partners are start-ups, SMEs, or industrial partners, ECCP connects them with the resources needed to stimulate innovation, collaboration, and growth across the EU. The first Euroclusters have already launched the Financial Support for Third Parties (FSTP), unlocking new EU funding opportunities for SMEs in Europe’s industrial ecosystems. 

News from Lithuania on INVESTech Project

Good news from our partners at Klaipėda Science and Technology Park regarding the implementation of the INVESTech Project!

On 31.03.2026, the INVESTEech i-Lab officially opened its doors at Klaipėda Science and Technology Park, marking an important step in promoting innovation, skills development and closer cooperation between academia and the business sector in Western Lithuania. i-Lab is a specialized collaboration and training space designed to support the development of ICT competencies and meet the growing demand for qualified specialists.

It creates conditions for education and industry to work together on real challenges, exchange knowledge and create innovative solutions.

National INVESTech Workshop

The INVESTechproject is entering its third year.

Pursuing its goal of creating a transnational platform (network) of five National Centres of Excellence in VET (Bulgaria, Greece, Slovakia, Cyprus, and Latvia), 18 organisations carried out significant research and preparatory work for the learning process in VET.

The models for the national centres have been developed, the framework and skeleton of the transnational platform have been created, and a large part of the methodological tools to be used in the upcoming training and certification activities of COVEs is ready. And most importantly, the methodological framework has been developed to build a broad network of organisations in Europe interested in this project.
