About a few days ago, the European Commission announced a Call for Proposals activities by providing funding to specific research projects on disinformation and complement the European Digital Media Observatory’s (EDMO) activities by providing funding to specific research projects on disinformation. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 30 November 2020.

On October 30, 2020, the call for proposals from start-ups/scaleups for inclusion in the second 6-month accelerator program of the Media Motor Europe Project, which is implemented with the participation of the Sofia City of Knowledge Cluster, was closed. The project is implemented within Startup Europe.

What are the results at this stage?

A total of 150 start-ups/scaleups from 29 different countries responded to the Open call and started filling in their applications. Of these, 84 companies were able to finalize and submit their application forms.

On November 2, 2020, the project "Skills4Cities - Smart Skills for Smarter Cities" was launched, in which Cluster Sofia Knowledge City as a leading organization cooperates with 5 partners from Bulgaria, Spain, Austria, Romania, and Greece.

The project is funded by the ERASMUS+ program, key action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Strategic Partnerships for vocational education, and training.

The project Skills4Cities will be realized in partnership with IBS, IDEC, GAIA, ECQA, and ARIES.

A workshop on entrepreneurship and open innovations took place in Sofia Tech Park on 21.10.2020. This was the first event of the Media and Creative Industries Innovation Hub in Sofia, set in the program for the period 2020 - 2021. The program was developed by the cluster with the assistance of cluster members and was implemented in the frame of the MediaMotorEurope Project. It was coordinated with the Sofia Tech Park, BICA, and the Investment Council of the BCCI, partners in the Innovation Hub initiative.
